After this check on the “Finish” tab on the confirmation page and wait till the system is restoring to the earlier restore point.

Reboot the system and then press “OK”. The confirmation message will appear and after the system reboots, the process for restoring the registry key will be completed.

Tips for restoring registry keys in Windows XP

Select “start” icon and then press the option of “Run” from the startup menu. The next step is to type "%SystemRoot%\System32\Restore\Rstrui.exe" on the dialog box of run and press “OK”. This will open the System Restore Utility on the screen.

Select the option of "Restore my computer to an earlier time" and then press “Next”. Under the "Select a Restore Point", check the option of "System Checkpoint" and then press “Next”. Review the changes and then press “OK”. Select Next and then press “OK”, for the registry key restoration to the last restoration date.
