The benefits of working after retirement  vary. Those   who keep  carrying out work after retirement enjoy physical and mental health  tan those who  do not.

It  will be better if you are lucky to get a job  in your field  . It is no wonder that some people cannot imagine not working after retirement, especially if you find something you enjoy doing.

However,  why some people cannot do without working?   There are those who have to work, those who want to work or a combination of both. If after you retire you still have children in school, you will have to work to be able to pay for school fees and meet other expenses.

If you  are under this situation, you must do it with caution, avoid stressful work and reduce the working hours to have enough time for yourself as a retiree. At this point of your life you are supposed to take things easy.

It is therefore wise to have what is generally refer to as ‘bridge job’ this is the stage at which a person takes up a job typically with reduced hours following a full time career.

It is a bridge between a full time career and retirement. This is done so that they do not get a big shock of suddenly having nothing to do. Boredom and loneliness can cause a major upset in health condition especially after one has been in a full time employment

Why Retirement Work?

People who went into some form of retirement job are reported to have lower rates of major diseases like high blood pressure, heart diseases, diabetes and arthritis than those who went into full retirement

In addition to better physical health, retirement workers tend to have fewer mental health problem like depression. However, workers who took up part-time job in other field other than their own cannot be said to enjoy the same benefits as those who do the work they enjoy doing. This is probably because those in this category took up these jobs because they have to do it.

Whichever category you find yourself, you must remember that as a retired man or woman you should not take up a full time employment, after all this is the period in your life that you have to relax and enjoy the rest of it as a senior citizen.
