"Following the successful and well-attended pre-launch of our new collection at Basel World, the world's largest watches and jewelry fair, we are now announcing our first public introduction in Las Vegas for the USA market from 3-6 June," said Michel Morren, CEO of Goldvish Le Million. "These are 18-karat gold cell phones for men and women with or without diamonds. There is no doubt, however, that the most stunning cell phone in the collection is the spectacular 'Le Million de la Nit'," he said. Morren also points out that it is the most expensive cell phone ever made.
The Goldvish Le Million collection is in jewelry and communications design. Each Goldvish Le Million cell phone is equipped with the latest in mobile technology (quad-band for effortless worldwide reception, a camera and MP3 player, along with other features) and is hand-made in Switzerland, the home of ''haute horologer''.
The Goldvish Le Million cell phone, the most exclusive and expensive ever created, was designed by Emmanuel Guest creative director of Goldvish Le Million. Guest is well known in the watch and jewelry industry and designed the Edemas Piquet Royal Oak Off shore and the Z1 & Z2 of Harry Winston, a guarantee of true perfection, style and glamour.
Aiming for an exclusive design and unmatched excellence, such as Goldvish Illusion also has used only top quality materials in the cell phone's design, including 18-karat solid gold, available in rose, yellow or white gold, and diamonds, all of D-E color and none less than VVS-1 clarity grade, as certified in the accompanying diamond grading reports.
Prices of Goldvish Le Million phones start at €18,900, but go all the way up to a seven figure number for the Goldvish Le Million Limited Edition "Le Million de la Unit" which features more than 100 carats of D/Color and VVS-1 clarity grade diamonds and a guaranteed limited production of just three pieces worldwide.
"NOT A CELL PHONE ANYMORE." New technologies drive many of the new designs. One example: Synaptic Clear Pad, a new type of touch screen that will become commercially available later this year. Unlike today's touch screens, which aren't entirely transparent and often not very sensitive—we've all had to endlessly tap one with a stylus to get a response—Clear Pad is clear, so it can be used as a sensitive overlay to a cell-phone display. Another innovation likely to change the cell-phone's appearance: flexible displays. An electronic ink screen prototype, developed by Koninklijke Philips Electronics and startup E-Ink, is thin and flexible like paper so it can be worn wrapped around a cell phone. Users can wrap it to view a map on a larger screen. Eventually, the display could be used to watch video.
These Luxury Goldvish Phone designs are just the tip of the iceberg of the ideas floating around for a cell-phone makeover. As Brian Conner, a designer at Munich-based Pilot fish, says, "You can either design a chair, or an object to sit on. You can design a communications device, or a cell phone." Looking at Onyx, he says, "It's not a cell phone anymore."
