Without players who are fit and healthy, the team will not be able to function at all. Even if the team gels well at its best, taking away key players can leave a hole that can’t be filled.
Therefore, those personnel trained in sports first aid are about to be the eminnent member of the team. It is not just the immediate affect that sports first aid can have that is important, but also the long term affect. Should players not be treated in the right way at the right time, problems that should have been merely minor acute instances can find themselves becoming chronic, recurring ones, meaning that entire seasons can suffer as a result. First aid for sports can have a huge effect on not only players’ performances, but also morale – for many different reasons. The fitter and healthier players are the more able they will be to focus on the game, whilst the more that the important players can play, the more confident a team will feel in general. So, when it comes to first aid for sports, don’t go thinking that just anyone can use some spray and a bandage, and indeed don’t underestimate the importance of such a role, as those administering first aid can end up being the most important member .
