Full Port These ball valves have a large ball. In fact, the ball size is the same as the pipe size. This means less friction is lost and there is no restriction in flow. These are probably the best ball valves available but they are also the most expensive ones too. V Ball Port These ball valves operate with the use of a ‘V’ shaped ball. This makes it much easier to control the opening mechanism of the ball valve. It is great for higher velocity fluids as it is more durable than the other ball valves on the list. Cavity Filler Ball Valves Cavity filler ball valves feature balls which remain in contact with the seats at all times. This stops liquids and residues from escaping into compartments which they should not be in. These types of valves are often used in products which will be consumed by people. Trunnion Ball Valves Trunnion ball valves are great for high pressure valves as they have a mechanism which helps to further stabilise the ball at both the top and bottom ends.
