This is done to build on brand loyalty and improve the relationship you have with existing customers. You can also use this method to gain new customers therefore expanding your client base. Depending on your budget and time constraints it is possible to either buy email marketing software or pay a company to run the whole thing for you, it depends on what you feel is suitable.

Email marketing can hold many advantages over traditional mail. One of these includes being able to see how a return on your investment. You can also reach a wide range of people with relative ease. It gives you the ability to target a large volume of people which may not have been previously possible on the marketing budget. Email marketing also gives you the opportunity to track your mail so you can see who has opened it, who has acted upoin and who has sent it to their junk folder.

Through tailoring your mail you can reach an even wider base of people as you can send the same message but convey it in a different way. Email marketing is fast which means fast results too meaning a more effective campaign all round. It frees up a lot of time for you to concentrate on other areas of the business. You may also find that if you make your email messages effective recipients may pass them on family and friends which means your customer base will increase just through word of mouth. All you have to do it watch the clicks rolling in. 

The use of email marketing is ever increasing due to its effectiveness and how easy to use it is. Make sure you dont overload people with emails though as it is quite likely they will get sick and either mark you as spam or send all your mail to junk without reading which reduces the effectiveness of the campaign. Make sure your mail is clear and concise and is sent out at spaced interval otherwise you could run the risk of damaging your reputation and ruining your campaign.

An additional point to make is that you ensure you email list is kept up to date as people often leave for a number of reasons.
