The international marketplace consists of three types of companies: private companies, public companies and listed companies.
Private companies are those whose shares cannot be bought by anybody outside the company, thereby limiting access to only those who are of those companies. Public companies are those which are limited by the number of shares that they hold, their guarantees and them having share capitals. Also, public companies may or may not be visible on the stock market, although all companies on the stock market are public companies.
