Consumer behavior is a study of predicting consumer’s decision to buy a particular product or not.  Consumer exposure has widened due to the wide arrays of products and companies producing similar products. Figuring out the consumer behavior trend is the main job description for the marketing team of any given organization. The trend changes every minute because of the development of technology. There are new inventions cropping up every minute and consumers are always looking for the next best thing.

Consumers usually play three different roles as the user, buyer and the payer. Predicting their buying pattern is done by studying the consumers individually and as a group. The buying pattern differs from each person. Relationship marketing is very important in obtaining the consumer analysis of a mass. The other techniques important are customer relation, personalization, customer retention and individual marketing. Social and public events help in studying the consumer behavior.

Usually consumers are influenced by two factors, the external and the internal influence. The external influences are the advertisements, reviews that their read about the product and the internal influence is their experience with the product and their friends and family’s experience. The success of an organization relies on the Marketing Team. Once the product is launched, it should attract the consumers. Only then they will consider your products. When a consumer sees your product among many other brands, it’s the job of the marketing team to make them reach out for their product. Consumers have various sources of information; they no longer rely only on the television advertisement. Advertisements help you to get your products noticed. Only 30 percent of the people actually buy what they see in the advertisements, the remaining relies on the magazines and the internet. The magazines are always reviewing your products and listing out the best in the business.

Once a consumer detects a fault, they search for solution and information regarding the problem through different means. The different sources of information are commercial, public and personal. They will refer to personal reviews of people who have undergone similar problems. When a particular product has many negative reviews, consumers will decide against buying them again. Any adverse problems with your product would attract the media’s attention and moove to the consumer courts to file complaint. Eventually that will become a very bad issue and a negative publicity.

Evaluation of information is the process where the consumers compare the brand and their products. The main aim of the marketing team is to make the consumers consider their products among the comparison. The buying decision is the process where the consumer decides on purchasing the particular product. This decision of buying the particular product is usually influenced by the promotions and offers given for the products. Everyone wants maximum out of what they spend. So regular sampling and test trial of the products is required. They are a very good way of promoting and advertising your products.

Evaluation after the purchase is the concern of the consumer for the particular product. Either they are happy with their buy or disappointed. When they are disappointed with a particular product, they reach out to the customer care of the product. When necessary result and answers are obtained, then the consumers are happy else they would never buy that product again and may go to consumer court. It is important to obtain customers but it is even more important to retain them. Good customer relationship should be maintained always.

It is very important for any company to maintain their ratings. Nowadays, everyone has the access to the internet and the information is available to anyone who needs it. So companies should come up with good products which the consumers would reach out for. More than the attachment of the product, the consumers should start believing that particular brand. When the customers believe in the brand then any product from that brand is an immediate hit.
