As trucks trundle away from your site bearing the brunt of heavy loads how do you know they are abiding by the law?  How can you tell they’re not overloaded breaking strict transport laws in the process? Get the trucks to drive onto a Weighbridge and you’ll know exactly what they weigh.
Accurate types of weighbridges are used to monitor the weight of commercials and with a weighbridge in place your company will be covered.  As soon as you drive a truck onto a Weighbridge you’ll be provided with data that tells you exactly how much weight the vehicle is carrying.  Without the Weighbridge it would be total guesswork, with it you know right down to the ounce.
Keep your fleet rolling and stay within the law by using a Weighbridge on a daily basis.
Why do I need a weighbridge?
That’s a fair question.  Why do companies use weighbridges on their site?  Basically there are two very good reasons to use a Weighbridge and the first simple reason is to make sure you’re not overloading your trucks.  By law you’re only allowed to carry goods up to the gross axle weight of the vehicle, anything over and you could be hit with a heavy fine, so that’s why many companies use a Weighbridge to validate the weight of the load.
Secondly, a Weighbridge provides accurate measurements of loads that are carried by vehicles; you know exactly the amount of load that is going to a customer. A Weighbridge provides you with two essential functions that help your fleet to operate with greater efficiency.
Are all weighbridges the same?
No they’re not.  Different types of Weighbridge solutions are used depending on the site with pit or surface options available. As you might imagine, a pit Weighbridge is sunken into the ground and the vehicle drives straight onto it to have its weight taken.  A surface mounted Weighbridge is accessed via a ramp and again the truck driver waits on top of the scale until the weight is taken before departing down the exit ramp.  Both types of Weighbridge provide accurate measurements and when the axel weight of the truck is deducted from the total weight on the scales a precise figure is produced
