A roll cage is an in built protection device in side a car. Specially installed in race cars, where the chances of accidents are much, much higher than ordinary circumstances, a roll cage prevents the passengers from tumbling along in case of a roll over. A roll over is a worst case of accidents and chances of head injures are very high. A rollcage holds the passengers firmly in place and prevents the impact of the car of the body from reaching the passengers. Roll cages are made according to specifications and every racing organization insists upon them. Although each might be having their own rules, a roll cage in some capacity is an absolute must. Apart from saving the occupants, it also stiffens the chassis of the car. On the other hand, for other regular use, a single bar or a roll bar is installed which runs through the head rest of the car and supporting the back and shoulders. However, in 1989, Mercedes Benz R129 made it possible for the roll cage to be used more discreetly inside the car. It ran just beneath the body of the car, hidden from sight but with the help of powerful sensors, it can detect a possible rollover, immediately locking in place. The loops are actually loose but they lock together to form this roll cage.. If you are too fond of racing and fast driving, it would be best to install the roll cage or at least a roll bar to minimize the effect of an accident. You will be doing a lot to save the life of your known ones and relatives inside the car.
