It’s a well known fact that some car depreciate more than others and that if you’re one of those buying a brand new car you will probably be focused on getting a car which will hold its value well so that when you come to sell it you get as much money back for it as possible. But if you’re looking to buy a nearly new car you are better off looking at cars which have dropped sharply in price as it’s more likely to have reached a plateau meaning that when you come to sell it again you won’t lose a lot of money.
It’s worth noting that most new cars lose a lot of their value in their first few years so the below list of great nearly new bargains by no means indicates that you’re getting a bad car.
Back in 2009 the Vauxhall Insignia was the car of the year but now you can actually get that model for as little as £9000. For that you get a great looking and comfortable car which also handles well on the road. So if you’re in the market for this or other great Vauxhall offers, Kent is one region where you should be able to get lots for your money. The Subaru Tribeca is another great value car which you two years ago had to pay around £34,000 for. Now you can get this 7-seater vehicle for £13,000.
If you’re more in the market for a speed monster there are options available for you too. A two-year-old Porsche Cayenne Turbo which cost £75,000 can now be bought for as little as £40,000. A cheaper thrill for speed junkies however is the Mazda RX-8 which is a coupe car capable of great performance. But as the Porsche it’s a thirsty car but while the Porsche sets you back £40,000, the Mazda RX-8 is available for as little as £8,000.
In addition to the above you can also find two-year old bargains from Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen, Nissan and others which basically underlines the fact that most cars do lose a lot of their value in the first few years of their lives. So if you like new cars but want to be smart about if, have a look for vehicles which are 2-3 years old. You won’t only save money on the actual car but in most cases the vehicle will still be under manufacturer’s warranty and thus potentially save you money should a fault occur.
