It is more often foe people to use the paper-cut as decorative accessories in house, and thus to make their living environment beautiful. Needlecraft is a standard to weight whether women is perfect or not in the Chinese tradition in that time. So as the compulsory skill, paper-cut becomes a craft that girls have to learn when they are young. They learned from their sisters or elder generations, they described their familiar and loved natural features, such as fish and insects, flower and tree, landscape and finally reached the realm to cut arbitrary shape.
Chinese folk art of paper-cut likes ivy, old but evergreen, the popularity, practicability and aesthetic make it meet the psychological needs of the people.
